You know how it is, when you scratch an itch you stop scratching when the itch stops. I hacked the radns program to solve an immediate problem, to get a DNS resolver address to my autoconfigured IPv6 hosts. When it worked enough to be usable, I stopped, even though a lot was still left to do.
The new release candidate solves a few problems, specifically it helps when you have dual-stacked hosts with DHCP clients that compete with radns for ownership of /etc/resolv.conf. I provide two ways of solving it, one with an exit hook to the dhclient DHCP client and one with an exit hook to radns that uses the resolvconf program. The NEWS file says this about the new release:
You can get the goods at http://hack.org/mc/hacks/radns/
Please note that this is a release candidate and more tests needs to be done. Please download and test!
I also have what seems to be working code for time to live-handling of the DNS resolver addresses, but that will be a separate release.
Happy hacking!
